Website Housekeeping: Tip 1

Sometimes it’s challenging to know where to begin with website maintenance. This new “Super Simple Website Housekeeping” email series is designed to steer you in the right direction with easy-to-complete tasks.

Here is task 1, delete old and outdated blog posts

Why It Matters

  1. Improves Content Accuracy: Old posts may no longer represent your services or products accurately.
  2. Enhances SEO: Google treats blog posts and web pages similarly. By removing outdated posts, you focus SEO efforts on current, valuable content. You may think you only have 10 web pages, but add in the number of blog posts, and it’s easy to rack up hundreds (thousands) of pages being ranked by Google.

How to Complete

  1. Log in to your WordPress dashboard
  2. Select “Posts” > “All Posts”
  3. Bin outdated posts (or set them as drafts if you think you might like to reuse them).

This simple task will result in a more accurate and SEO-friendly blog. Your blog will be easier to manage and your website rankings will thank you.
