Box Hill Swim Team is a not-for-profit swimming club based in Guildford, Surrey, and is led by former International and Olympic Coach, Conrad Cawley. The previous Box Hill Swim Team website was built on an outdated and costly platform that made it increasingly difficult for Conrad to manage.
Box Hill does not have a permanent home but utilises various school pools in and around Guildford. Therefore, it is crucial for their website to be consistently updated with the latest times, venues, and schedule changes to keep members well -informed.
We were asked to design a website to closely resemble the previous look and feel but within a new WordPress environment. This transition ensures future compatibility and longevity while allowing for essential improvements, particularly in mobile layout and functionality. The result was a website that maintained the familiar look and feel while incorporating necessary updates.
A key feature of the new website is the members only section, which we seamlessly integrated with a secure username and password login system. This dedicated area provides members with access to sensitive information, including the latest club news, swim team results, and exclusive links to equipment suppliers. The new setup ensures that all member-related content is securely protected while remaining easily accessible.
Conrad found the new site significantly easier to manage and update compared to the old one. Within a week of launching, all club members had signed up and successfully logged into the new members’ area!
