Boscastle Primary School is a community primary school located in the charming harbour village of Boscastle, a fishing port on the north coast of Cornwall. Having seeing a number of our successful school websites  and receiving a recommendation, Boscastle Primary School approached b:web to develop an extensive and user-friendly website.

School Website Design

With only a photo of the school logo on a jumper provided as branding, we redrew this logo to create a usable website emblem. Following our initial design presentation, the school organised a photoshoot to capture beautiful images of the campus, which helped personalise and enhance the website’s visual appeal.

The new website was designed with a comprehensive menu structure featuring multiple submenus to handle the extensive range of information. Key elements included:

1. School news & announcements: A section for the latest updates, news, and important notices.
2. Interactive calendar: Showcasing school events, holidays, and term dates.
3. Class pages: Dedicated sections for each class, detailing curriculum, resources, and activities.
4. Parent & student resources: Easy access to downloadable forms, policies, and educational materials.
5. Contact information: Clear contact details and a user-friendly contact form for inquiries.
6. Governance information: Details about the school’s governance, including board information and meeting minutes.
7. Ofsted reports: A section for the latest Ofsted inspection reports and performance data.

We ensured the website was built in WordPress, optimised for both mobile and desktop views, and designed with accessibility in mind. The website features several dozen pages and is continually updated and managed by the school staff. The result is a clean and efficient website that presents a large amount of information in accessible, easy-to-read sections.
