We can usually still offer support with your website hosted elsewhere, but there’s no discount, since the savings are offset by the extra work of dealing with a third-party host. We prefer to host websites ourselves so we can act quickly when something needs fixing, without waiting on someone else. If you do host elsewhere, check your provider includes daily backups and a proper disaster recovery process, not all of them do.
Without ongoing security management, a website gradually becomes more vulnerable. A hack can cause serious damage, and Google can remove or blacklist compromised websites from search results. It also becomes hard to show GDPR compliance if parts of the website are out of date.

We handle the technical setup (SMTP, DNS, 2FA), keep your plugins updated and tested, back your website up daily, and step in the moment something looks wrong. If you host it yourself, all of that responsibility, and the time it takes, sits with you.
Hosting your website yourself is cheaper on paper. Here’s what you’re getting instead when you host with us.
Hosting it yourself means registering and paying for hosting directly, applying your own updates, setting up and monitoring your own backups, and dealing with any security issues or downtime on your own or through a separate provider. It can work well if you have the time and technical know-how, but the responsibility for keeping the website online, secure and backed up sits entirely with you.
