Services: website design, business directory, branding, SEO
b:web has recently embarked on an exciting passion project: the Plymouth Independent Business Directory. Originally conceived as an online platform to promote Mutley Traders in collaboration with Mutley Baptist Church, the project has evolved into a comprehensive directory encompassing all local and independent businesses across Plymouth, offering free listings to support and showcase the diverse business community.
The initial phase of the website focuses on providing seamless sign-up functionality, allowing businesses to easily add their details and entries to the directory. Once a substantial number of businesses have registered, the site will transition into a fully operational directory accessible to the public.
To ensure both usability and appeal, b:web has designed the website to be clean, spacious, and visually engaging. The layout incorporates image-based navigation for different categories of businesses and features business card-style panels for individual listings, providing comprehensive information about each enterprise’s products and services.
Complementing the website development, b:web is executing a robust SEO and marketing campaign to enhance online visibility and drive traffic to the directory. The focus includes targeting relevant keywords and implementing strategies to improve search engine rankings, thereby making it easier for users to discover and connect with local businesses.
“Nothing quite like this business directory currently exists in Plymouth, and we couldn’t think of a better way to support local businesses. Our goal is to strengthen the local economy by raising the profiles of Plymouth-based businesses, making them more accessible to both visitors and residents. With the directory, users will be able to search for services by postcode, location, or business type, ensuring they can easily find what they need within the community.
We believe that by championing local Plymouth businesses, we can make a meaningful impact on our community. Our aim is to encourage customers to shop locally and to build a stronger online network where like-minded businesses can support each other. In the real world, we’ll be connecting with customers through window stickers and printed brochures in physical shops and premises, further bridging the gap between online and offline engagement.”
