Services: eCommerce website design
Sarah, an artist and illustrator, approached us to create her first-ever website. A close friend of b:web and based just a short distance from our Plymouth office, Sarah’s work is known for its cheerful and bold use of colour, patterns, and expressive illustrative lines. While she had an impressive logo and a well-developed colour scheme, she lacked an online platform to showcase and sell her art.
The website features large blocks of vivid colour with lots of image-based content, ensuring that Sarah’s artwork takes centre stage. Categories of artwork are colour-coded in harmony with her branding, and the clean, intuitive menu makes it simple for visitors to explore her diverse portfolio and product offerings. Curvy, uneven sections echo Sarah’s hand-drawn style, while subtle background graphics create a sense of depth and cohesiveness throughout the site.
eCommerce functionality: we built the website using WordPress with WooCommerce integrated for product listings and checkout. The clean white backgrounds of the product pages contrast beautifully with the vibrant background colours, allowing the artworks to stand out.
Mailchimp: We used Sarah’s branding to design a simple Mailchimp template that could be reused to announce new art pieces to her followers.
Social media: We helped Sarah upload icons for her Instagram Stories and created a bespoke Linktree page to streamline access to her various online platforms.
