The Yard sits right next to Devil’s Point, a well-known local spot for waterside walks and views across Plymouth Sound, with Stonehouse just beyond it.
Working from Royal William Yard puts us right in the heart of things, close to several of our clients here in Plymouth and within easy reach of others across Wiltshire, Devon and Cornwall. It’s hard not to enjoy coming into work when you’re surrounded by seafront views and a genuinely historic old building. Most of the team lives nearby, and the Yard itself is easy to get to. Between that and the surroundings, there’s a great atmosphere here that suits how we like to work.
Our address for satnav purposes is Royal William Yard, Plymouth, PL1 3RP. If you're driving in via Durnford Street, follow Royal William Road round to the right rather than continuing straight on. You'll come to a large cobbled roundabout, with the entrance to the Yard directly ahead of you.
There's a pay and display car park on site with payment by contactless, chip and PIN or the Paybyphone app. Devil's Point Public Car Park is a short walk away and includes some free spaces (3-hour max) alongside paid bays.
The nearest railway station is Plymouth, on the mainline with regular services to London and beyond. From the station, it's about 1.9 miles to the Yard, roughly 35 to 40 minutes on foot, around 25 minutes by bus, or 10 to 15 minutes by taxi.
Plymouth Citybus route 34 stops directly outside the Yard, making it the simplest bus route in. Routes 21 and 21A run through nearby Stonehouse, about a 10-minute walk away. For live timetables, check plymouthbus.co.uk.
